Burgers From A Lab: The World Of In Vitro Meat

June 6, 2011 by newkosher

“Imagine picking up a nice juicy burger and taking a bite, only to find out that the meaty burger you’re biting into didn’t come from an animal — it was grown in a lab.”

We heard this really interesting story on NPR about the genetic engineering of meat in labs.

It made us wonder: would lab grown meat be kosher?

Tell us what you think: can shechita be done in a petri dish?
