PunkTorah, a non-profit organization dedicated to independent Jewish spirituality, learning and debate, is looking for an intern for our Atlanta, GA based office. Position starts November 1st.
Our organization operates Jewish websites including PunkTorah (independent Jewish spirituality lifestyle blog), 3xDaily (educational prayer resource), OneShul (the world’s only community-ran, online synagogue) as well as a web/design studio and a lecture/education service. Our ideal candidate would:
-Live in the Metro-Atlanta area (or be relocating before Hanukkah) and have reliable transportation. If you do not live in Atlanta, other opportunities are available. Please let us know.
-Engaged in Jewish life with an interest in Jewish spirituality and religion, art, culture, music, news, etc.
-Some level of experience with social media (Facebook, Twitter, WordPress). Bonus points if you know the Mac suite (iMovie, Garageband, etc.) Photoshop, have some photography or video skills, and any other hidden talents you want to utilize in a work environment
-Forward thinking, problem-solving attitude and team spirit
-A passion for pop culture beyond the Jewish world (movies, video games, music, technology, the web, comic books, etc)
-Ability to handle multiple tasks at once with little supervision
-A desire to learn something new, every single day
This position is two days a week, four hours a day, and we observe all Jewish and national holidays. This position is unpaid; however, you will never have any expenses working for PunkTorah (no dress code you have to live up to or gas money you have to spend to run errands). You will also get some awesome perks along the way including PunkTorah merch.
