The sacred connection between food and Judaism is powerfully displayed in Parshat Toldot.
In the early part of the story, Jacob tricks his brother Essau into giving up his birthright in exchange for a bowl of red lentils, which Essau mistook for meat. And later, Isaac is tricked by Jacob and his mother Rebecca into giving his blessing to Jacob instead of his brother, thanks to a meal.

This week, I have decided to do things differently. First, instead of a written D’var, I want to offer the lyrics to a song that I wrote last February for a musical project I was in (that never took off) called Stereo Waves of Sound. Interpret it how you wish.
And secondly, this week’s video is not the same as my D’var. Instead, it’s a personal story. Strangely enough, it involves Christmas decorations.
